Awards success for Management Science quartet

Four members of the Management Science Department in 天美传媒 University Management School have been recognised with awards for their papers, projects and lifelong efforts.
Dr Go Nam (Harry) Lui and Professor Guglielmo Lulli, along with Dr Luigi De Giovanni and Martina Galeazzo, of the Università di Padova, and Icíar García-Ovies Carro and Rebeca Llorente Martínez, of CRIDA, won the Best Paper in the Track Air Traffic Flow Management and Optimization Award at the first US-Europe Air Transportation Research and Development Symposium in Prague.
, is an output from the SESAR 3 and UKRI-funded , working to improve the efficiency and capacity of air travel by using Artificial Intelligence to redesign flexible airspace sectors.
In another success for the department, Dr Peter Jacko was part of the team to win the Statisticians in the Pharmaceutical Industry (PSI) Special Interest Group (SIG) of the Year Award for their Randomization SIG.
The award recognises outstanding contributions by an SIG that have demonstrated exceptional impact through their innovative initiatives, active member engagement, and meaningful contributions to the wider statistical community.
The SIG has contributed to sessions on advanced randomisation designs at the Society for Clinical Trials 45th Annual Meeting and the PSI conference, as well as publishing 19 papers in peer-reviewed journals, and contributing on regulatory matters and developing two open-source software packages.
As part of the win, the Randomization SIG are guaranteed a session at the 2026 PSI conference.
There was further success for Professor Niki Panteli, who was awarded a Fellowship from the UK Academy of Information Systems at their annual conference. The Fellowship was awarded for service to the academy, which Professor Panteli has served as both President and board member, and for contributions to the Information Systems discipline nationally and internationally.
